ESAB has launched the Robust Feed U82 wire feeder, which includes a full suite of advanced process control functions that help users increase competitiveness through consistent weld quality and appearance, address workforce skill issues, improve productivity and reduce operating costs through more uptime. The feeder accepts 200 and 300 mm wire spools and is designed to work with ESAB’s Aristo® 500ix and Aristo Mig 4004i Pulse power sources for MIG/MAG, pulsed MIG, flux cored and TIG welding, as well as carbon arc gouging.

ESAB launched its new Savage A40 Air helmet, designed to partner with ESAB’s existing Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR). Helmets such as the Savage A40 Air are essential for workers in situations where welding fumes and particulates are a concern, such as for some cored wires, working in confined or poorly ventilated spaces and for protecting operators from hexavalent chromium fumes, which are generated from stainless steel, chrome alloys and chrome-coated metals.

ESAB has introduced Exaton 19.9.Nb HF, classified as an AWS A5.9: ER347 as well as an EN ISO 14343-A S 19 9 Nb, is a 300 series austenitic steel submerged arc welding wire with niobium and high ferrite to further increase weld deposit mechanical properties at elevated temperature. It is ideal for stainless steel applications on pressure vessels (e.g. for components requiring cladding restoration) and other thick plate applications requiring multiple passes (e.g. at pipe mills performing longitudinal welds).

Building on the success of its DMX Automated Plasma Beveller, ESAB has launched SquareCut Technology to further improve the productivity of automated plasma cutting operations. SquareCut Technology tilts the torch to compensate for the 1- to 3-degree edge angle inherent in high-precision plasma cutting to provide three distinct benefits: • A High-Speed Mode cuts up to two times faster without increasing bevel angle. • A Quality Mode creates a cut surface with a 0 to 1 degree bevel. • Improved Enhanced Hole Technology cuts smaller holes with better cylindricity.
